More than 2,000 years ago, the Romans came to a famous realisation: "Give the people bread and a circus, and they will be happy!". Even in the oldest democracies, in my opinion, the world is being democratised day by day, while politicians in power together with their bureaucrats and private aristocrats change laws and regulations while the ordinary citizen is busy with just bread and circuses.
